I’m terrible at speaking, and I’m terrible at social media. However, I’m pretty decent at writing my thoughts down, and boy, do I have some thoughts about the Pokemon Trading Card Game and its competitive metagame.
I will be posting meta calls, tournament analysis, light card reviews, deck reviews, market reviews (for my TCG store, Alakazam Assets), and event reports for myself and my 9 y.o. juniors competitor. All opinions are my own, even though they will be heavily influenced by others. You will likely disagree with my opinions; I love talking to people who disagree with me, because the exercise of examining their view will likely expose fallacies of my own.
My goal is to post at least once a week. I am incredibly busy, between my roles as a husband, father of four young children (two kids with fragile x), coaching two basketball teams, coaching a baseball team, the Pokemon TCG, and my full time job as an electrical estimator and database manager, I’m very busy. However, scheduling = stress relief, and I manage my schedule very well. I anticipate that my posting here will be therapeutic for me, therefore my goal of one post a week will almost certainly be exceeded.
One last note: playing any TCG is expensive, especially at its highest level of competition. In 2023, my son decided to chase a world’s invite. My wife and I will be spending quite a bit of money on travel, hotels, and tournaments to give him an opportunity to make this dream a reality.
